Iko Poran offers a wide range of very affordable, exciting, meaningful, and safe volunteer projects in Rio de Janeiro. Our variety of programs includes Teaching, Childcare, Community Development, NGO Support, Environment, Sports, Arts & Design and others. We have the perfect volunteer project that matches your skills and interests.

Established in 2002 in Rio de Janeiro, as a local volunteer non-profit organization Iko Poran is the real thing!

We are the only international volunteer organization run by locals based in a developing country. Most of other providers are mainly profit-oriented traveling companies based in First World nations.

Our volunteer programs are rewarding and safe while making a long lasting difference in local development organizations. And because we are a non-profit local organization we do not charge an extra handling or registration fee. And last but not least, our programs also include a Portuguese course to help you go a much longer way
